Abstract: Organic and organic-inorganic hybrid perovskite semiconductors have been utilized in optoelectronic devices including solar cells due to their unique optoelectronic properties. The fundamental understanding of the static and dynamic processes in organic and perovskite solar cells could provide a guide for optimized device efficiency.

 
The interface between inorganic electrodes and organic active layers plays an important role in organic electronic devices. We elucidate the structural and electronic characteristics of the interfaces between organic semiconductors and inorganic electrodes and study how such interfaces affect device characteristics of organic solar cells. 


The relationship between crystal structure and the strength of the exciton binding energy could provide a guide for rational design of organic-inorganic hybrid perovskite, a material for high power conversion efficiency solar cell devices. We explore exciton and free charge dynamics in perovskite via temperature-dependent ultrafast laser spectroscopy and observe photophysics to be dependent on phase.

Bibliography:

Dr. He Wang received her bachelor degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Tsinghua University in China in 2008. She received her PhD in Electrical Engineering from Princeton University in 2013 and then went to Chemistry Department at UC Berkeley and Lawrence Berkeley National Lab as a postdoctoral fellow. She joined Physics Department in the University of Miami in August 2016 as an assistant professor. Her research interests focus on investigating device physics and photophysics of organic and organic-inorganic hybrid optoelectronic materials. Dr. He Wang received 2017 air force (AFOSR) young investigator research program (YIP) award. She has published 18 journal papers with more than 700 times citation.
